We are so proud of our girls! The competition was stiff and the tension nerve racking, but our girls came home with the trophy. On Friday 9th July our Year 5 and 6 girls after wining the Trafford heats, represented the borough in the Greater Manchester Mini Games held in Failsworth, Oldham. Many schools took part in a number of sports each representing their own boroughs of Oldham, Manchester, Stockport, Tameside and Trafford.

The girls had been rehearsing their set routine and individual piece for the last few weeks in conjunction with Davyhulme Primary, until the final big day arrived. It was a very prestigious event and to get to represent Trafford in the dance heats was a huge achievement in its self. The girls gave the performance of their lives, and although the competition was tough, they were glorious winners of the GMMG Dance Trophy. Each winner also received an individual medal and certificate.

Earlier in the week they entered the Flixton Dance Festival and won in the categories of Star Performance and Musical interpretation. Well done dance troupe!! A huge thank you to our SSCo, Alison, our dance coach, Sarah and of course Miss Fenton.

Does your child have a packed lunch?

Then have your say!

As a Healthy School we will be looking at developing a Healthy Lunchbox Policy, and as such we would like to consult with our parents and carers. There will be a meeting held in school on Thursday 1st July at 5pm. It will be a hands-on work shop with lots of practical advice and ideas.

Please come a long.

Another glorious day. The children slept well the night before and woke to a hearty breakfast. The day included Zip wire, Canoeing, Raft building, Piranha Pool and Problem Solving activities to mention but a few. As you can see the teachers were having plenty of fun too!

How many children does it take to lift two adults up in the air………………. quite a few!!

The children arrived safely yesterday at Robinwood Activity Centre; and what a glorious day it was. After a warm welcome and introduction from the team leaders the children had lunch and were shown to their dormitories. Their first task was to choose their beds; a dilemma for some!

Children were given their hard hats and safety equipment and prepared for their days activities.

They then had to pack their ruck sacks with the days essentials. The children were split into 2 groups. One group headed to the zip wire.

Quite a daunting experience if you’ve never tried it before. Our children were magnificent and soon got into the swing of things.

The other group handled the traversing climbing wall with ease.

The children were exhausted I’m sure by the end of day. All was fine when I left, so watch this space for the next instalment from Robinwood!

Hope you all had a fantastic break and are refuelled and ready for the last half term. There are lots of events this half term (list of dates can be found below). Just a reminder that children can wear their own clothes on Friday in exchange for items for the Summer Fair. A letter went out before the holidays detailing what each Year group could donate. Please let us know if you can help on the day. We still need people to help set up, tidy away and run stalls and activities. Thank you.

We will be holding a Summer Fair on Friday 2nd July from 3.20-5.00pm. You will be receiving a letter today about how you can help at the Summer Fair. As usual we need donations of toys, books, cakes, groceries, as good as new items, bottled items and chocolate.

We will be having a non-uniform day on Friday 18th June, in return for your child contributing an item(s) towards the Summer Fair. We also need volunteers to run stalls and help out so please let the school know if you are available to help set up, run a stall or help clear away.

The Summer Fair is always an enjoyable occasion and a valuable fund raiser for the school, so please help out in any way you can. We look forward to seeing you on the day.

During the hot weather please can you make sure your child is wearing suncream and comes to school with a hat or cap to protect them from the sun.
